Date of Confirmation: The sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated here at St. Anthony Church by Bishop Da Cunha on Tuesday, April 23 at 7pm. This year the parishes of St. Andrews and St. Jude will join us for Confirmation.
Soup-per-Bowl: January 26th, at 6pm we are going to have a Soup Supper. The meal will consist of various home-made soups, hot bread, and desserts. We invite parishioners to make a pot of their favorite Soup which (3 to 5 Gallons) they will serve. There is a sign-up sheet to bring a soup on the glass case in the welcome center, or click here to sign-up on line. This is also contest. At the end of the night, we will vote for the favorite soup in the Parish. Tickets are on sale int he rectory, after Mass, or click here to buy on-line.
Bible Study of the Lord’s Prayer: During the Thursdays of Lent our parish will sponsor a bi-lingual Study of the Lord’s Prayer starting at 6:30pm. The Lord’s Prayer is not just a prayer to be memorized and recited. It is an teaching on how to prayer as a disciple of Jesus (Lk 11: 1), and a summary of the entire gospel. Each session will involve prayer, a presentation, and small table discussion. The same study will be conducted in Portuguese by Deacon Jose and in English by Fr. Fred. The session topics are listed below:
March 7: An Introduction to the Lord’s Prayer
March 14: “Our Father”
March 11: “Your Kingdom come”.
March 28: “Give us this day our Daily Bread”
April 4: “Forgive us our trespasses”
April 11: “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil”.
